How To Enter : You can enter by visiting xacto.com/sharpenyourskills and submitting the following during the Entry Period (beginning at 12:00 a.m. Eastern Time on July 1, 2014 and ending at 11:59:59 p.m. ET on September 30,
2014):
- name, complete mailing address (No P.O. Boxes), valid email address, and applicable grade group. The grade groups are as follows: Group A: Grades 1-5; Group B: Grades 6-8; and Group C: Grades 9-12; and
- a representation (art/photo/picture) that demonstrates how pencils helped/will help them achieve their goals along with a sentence or paragraph (50 words or less) that supports the photo/picture and Theme.
Limit of one (1) entry per Entrant.
Eligibility : Open and offered only to legal residents of the 50 United States and Washington, D.C., who meet one of the following criteria:
- (i) they are students at least 15 years of age as of the date of entry,
- (ii) they are parents or legal guardians (who are at least 18 years of age and have reached the age of majority in his or her state of residence at the time of entry) of child (ren) who are students under 15 years of age as of the date of entry.
Prizes :
There will be a total of three (3) Grand Prizes awarded, of which one (1) will be awarded in each grade group.
Each Grand Prize winner will receive a prize of $10,000 (a) made payable to the Parent Entrant, or (b) in the event that a Student Entrant is a winner, made payable to his or her parent or legal guardian who is at least 18
years of age and has reached the age of majority in his or her state of residence at the time of entry.
There will be a total of five (5) $1,000 cash prizes awarded to five (5) teachers, selected & awarded at random.
