Microsoft Bing Earth Day Photo Contest

Eligibility : You are eligible to enter this Contest if you meet the following requirements at time of entry:

You are a legal U.S. resident of the 50 United States (and D. of C.) at least 5 years of age or older at the time of entry, and you are currently enrolled as a student in an accredited educational institution or program (including home schools); and If you are a minor, you must obtain your parents’ or legal guardians’ permission before entering, and your parent and/or legal guardian must agree to be bound, on your behalf, to these Rules;

Promotion Period :  The Microsoft Bing Earth Day Photo Contest starts at 12:01 a.m. Pacific Time (PT) on March 29, 2010, and ends at 5:00 p.m. PT on April 19, 2010 (“Contest Period”).

How To Enter : To enter, if you are a minor, ask for your parent or guardian’s permission, and then visit  earthdayphotocontest.com and follow the instructions, complete the registration form and upload your photograph (together called an “Entry”) into the applicable age category, based on the age that you are on the day you enter.

Limit : You may submit an unlimited number of Entries

Prize (s):

GRAND PRIZE.The Grand Prize winner will have their photo featured on the  http://www.bing.com US-English homepage on Earth Day April 22nd,2010. Microsoft may choose to use any hotspots within the winning photograph but is not obligated to do so. The winning photographer will be given credit for the photograph.

FIRST PLACE PRIZE. The First Place winner in each age category will receive a prize package consisting of the following items:

A trip for the winner and 1 guest (must be a parent or legal guardian if winner is a minor) to Seattle, WA, to attend a meeting with the Bing editorial team and help select photos for the Bing.com homepage. Approximate Retail Value, ARV $1,800. The trip includes:

  • Round-trip coach airfare from major airport closest to winner’s home.
    • If winner lives within 100 miles of travel destination, Sponsor reserves the right to provide alternative transportation.
  • Two (2) night’s double-occupancy standard hotel accommodations (2 people, 1 room)
  • Transfers to/from Airport/Hotel and Bing editorial team offices.
  • A $500 travel allowance.
  • n HP Pavillion PC and monitor (ARV $500).
  • The winner’s school* will receive a Digital Photo Lab, comprised of 12 HP Pavilion desktops, 12 monitors, 3 PhotoSmart Printers, 10 paper and ink value packs and 3 Canon Rebel EOS Cameras (ARV $9,000).

SECOND PLACE PRIZE. The Second Place Prize winner in each age category will receive:

  • An HP Pavilion PC and monitor (ARV $500).
  • The winner’s school* will receive a Digital Photo Kit, comprised of 5 HP Pavilion desktops PC’s, 5 monitors, 2 PhotoSmart Printers, 5 paper and ink value packs and 2 Canon Rebel EOS Cameras (ARV $4,000).

THIRD PLACE PRIZE. The Third Place Prizewinner in each age category will receive:

  • An HP Pavilion PC and monitor (ARV $500).
  • The winner’s school* will receive a Digital Photo Starter Set, comprised of 3 HP Pavilion desktops PC’s, 3 monitors, 1 PhotoSmart Printer, 3 paper and ink value packs and 1 Canon Rebel EOS Camera (ARV $2,400).

Winners : All winners and their photographs will be presented on the site. Additionally, there will be a blog post on the Bing community site (http://www.bing.com/community)  and messaging on the Bing Facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/bing)
