Eligibility : The Promotion is open only to individuals who are living within, and are legal residents of the 50 United States (including Washington D.C.), who are at least 18 years or older (or the age of majority in their state of residence, whichever is greater) as of the time of their entry.
Timing : The Hand Out Hostess® On Halloween Promotion (the “Promotion”) consists of a sweepstakes (the “Sweepstakes”) and an instant win game (the “Instant Win Game”). The Promotion begins on 9/13/10 at 12:00:00 a.m. Pacific Standard Time (“PST”) and ends on 10/25/10 at 11:59:59 p.m. PST (the “Promotion Period”).
Limit : Each registrant, regardless of email address used, may play the Instant Win Game one (1) time per day during the Promotion Period. Entrants can therefore receive a maximum of forty-three (43) Sweepstakes entries each during the Promotion Period.
Prize (s):
Instant Win Game: One-hundred (100) random, computer-generated winning times will be generated during the Promotion Period. A computer algorithm will spread the one-hundred (100) random times over the forty-three (43) day Promotion Period. Many will play, few will win. Odds of winning an Instant Win Game prize depend on the actual number of eligible Instant Win Game plays received and the timing of the game plays. There will be fifty (50) DC Comics DVD Sets – Superman/Batman: Apocalypse (ARV: $19.98 each), and fifty (50) DC Comics Year Long Subscriptions (ARV: $24.99 each) awarded as Instant Win Game prizes throughout the Promotion Period. If you are the player to play the Instant Win Game exactly at, or the first player to play immediately after one (1) of the predetermined randomly generated times, you will be a potential Instant Win Game prize winner of either: one (1) DC Comics DVD Set, or one (1) DC Comics Year Long Subscription. Instant Win Game prizes are not transferable or redeemable for cash and Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to substitute a prize (or a portion thereof) for a prize of greater or equal value. The difference between any ARV and actual retail value of a prize (due to market fluctuations at the time of prize award) will not be awarded in cash. Taxes, if any, on a prize, are solely the responsibility of the winner. Sponsor will determine exact products/subscriptions, in its sole discretion. In total, there is potential for one-hundred (100) Instant Win prizes and winners throughout the Promotion Period. (ARV: $2,248.50).
GRAND PRIZE EVENT: On Halloween, 10/31/10, the “Hostess® Prize Patrol”, a representative from the prize insurance company, and any media that Sponsor determines is reasonably fit, will personally appear at the location of the Grand Prize Event, which will be determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion. The Grand Prize winner will be provided prior notice of when and where the Grand Prize Event will be held, in order for the Grand Prize winner to ensure his/her presence. The Grand Prize winner will also have previously executed all required release forms and paperwork, and hereby agrees to cooperate with executing any further paperwork necessary, in Sponsor’s discretion, as to allow the promotion and publicity of the fact that the “Hostess® Prize Patrol” is holding said Grand Prize Event. At the Grand Prize Event, the Grand Prize winner will be presented with fifteen (15) sealed envelopes from which the Grand Prize winner will select two (2) envelopes. If the Grand Prize winner selects the two (2) envelopes that each contain a ticket with an identical image of a Hostess® Cupcake on it, the Grand Prize winner will receive the Grand Prize of One Million Dollars ($1,000,000), subject to verification. If the Grand Prize winner does not select the two (2) envelopes that each contain a ticket with an identical image of a Hostess® Cupcake on it, he/she will not be eligible to receive the One Million Dollars ($1,000,000); but will still receive ten-thousand dollars ($10,000).
